How can a Personal Stylist help to choose an outfit for a posh wedding (£500 budget)?
Thursday, March 22nd, 2007
A Personal Stylist will take you shopping after doing her homework and thoroughly preparing for your session with her. This is done via a detailed questionnaire and a phone call. Obviously, your budget will help determine where she takes you. Throughout the shopping trip, she will give you advice on how to shop for your bodyshape, showing you how to achieve a fantastic silhouette, and how to choose colours that make you look amazing.
For posh wedding outfit ideas, take advantage of the wonderful clothes on the High Street. Head to either Coast or Whistles who both have some truly beautiful dresses in unique styles. Look for something in a brightly coloured satin or silk and layer it up with a velvet blazer in a coordinating shade.
For shoes, go to Russell and Bromley or LK Bennet and look for some killer heels in either a metallic leather or with a bit of sparkle to them.
For hats, try either Accessorize or John Lewis for a matching hat or feather hair accessory!

How can I cover up my less-than-perfect bits?
Friday, March 16th, 2007
The first place to start is by wearing the correct underwear to sculpt your not-so-perfect figure into a shapely and smooth silhouette so that clothes fit and hang beautifully. You’ll look fabulous and feel supremely confident. The vast majority of female celebrities wear Magic Knickers under their dresses and gowns to their red carpet do’s to give the appearance of a perfectly toned figure!
Invest in a pair of good-fitting Magic Knickers – these wondrous garments will smooth and contour any lumps and bumps that need concealing, without the squeezed bits spilling out over the top or out of the sides – I know, it sounds delightful, but it does work.
Make sure you wear the right colour underwear – flesh colour goes with any colour outfit, while black underwear works only with black clothes.
Trinny and Susannah now have a range of Magic Knickers available from Littewoods in three styles called The Bum Lifter, the Tummy Flattener Thong and the Bum, Tum and Thigh Reducer (also available by mail order).
Also check out www.bareessentials.co.uk for a huge variety of body shapers including Patricia Eve’s Miracle Suit. M&S’s Magicwear dresses and separates are designed to cleverly support and enhance areas that may need a little extra help, and their range of magic underwear provide the perfect foundation for your outfit.

I want a great going-out-at-night handbag.
Wednesday, March 14th, 2007
Clutch bags are really strong right now and there are many different styles and shapes to choose from. Make sure that you don’t choose a style that’s too casual for going out.
A dressy bag can also carry a work outfit effortlessly into the evening.
When buying a bag, proportion is key – yours and the bags - you don’t want the bag to outsize you or for you to outsize the bag.
Choosing a bag in a colour which contrasts vividly with your outfit can be very chic and add a creative touch.

How do I stop myself from buying things that I just don’t need?
Wednesday, March 7th, 2007
First of all, sort through your wardrobe so that you know precisely what you have, and then decide what you need and what you don’t. By clearing out those clothes and accessories you no longer wear or don’t flatter you, you will be able to create a capsule wardrobe where colours, styles and accessories co-ordinate and can be worn with each other, and fit you perfectly (alter those that don’t).
Throw out or give away any catalogues that you may have lying around to avoid impulse buying. When you do shop, plan it beforehand, and check if a particular item is in stock before you leave home, so that you won’t make unnecessary purchases.
Be aware of your budget and only take out as much money as necessary, leaving any credit cards or other forms of payment at home. And if you know that you will give into temptation, avoid the sales and cut price retailers as cheap bargains can be very seductive.

How do I dress attractively and stylish for the office?
Wednesday, March 7th, 2007
You don’t have to spend a fortune on a great office wardrobe. The secret is to choose skirt or trouser suits that are cut well for your bodyshape and complement your colouring.
Today’s suit styles are figure flattering and come with the option of wearing a blouse or vest top underneath. The skirts are pencil or A-line shaped, the trousers are tapered or wide-legged, and the jackets are fitted and cropped. Next and M&S have a good selection of suits.
Grey is a key colour trend this season, it can be worn head to toe, or combined with shades of white, black, navy or pastels, creating a fresh, yet highly professional look.
Shirts with ruffles and fuller sleeves can be worn with slim skirts and trousers to create a flattering and stylish silhouette. Or select shirts that are slimly cut through the bodice with simple details on the cuff and sleeves that can easily be worn under suits without causing unnecessary bulk.

How can I get flawless looking skin with make-up?
Wednesday, March 7th, 2007
Preperation is key to achieving flawless skin. Prime skin so that your foundation will go on more smoothly and stay looking fresh for longer - Clarins Beauty Flash Balm, or Laura Mercier Foundation Primer are both excellent.
Then select a light-weight foundation according to your skin type, be it dry, normal, oily or mature. Clinique have a huge range of foundations to suit different skin types including translucent ones that allow your skin to show through. The most important thing is to get a perfect match in colour and tone. Apply it lightly all over your face to blend away blemishes and uneven skin tone.
Next use concealer on any red areas and under the eyes eg. YSL Touche Eclat or Benefit concealer.
Finally, finish with a light dusting of powder on your T-zone to keep this area matt.

How can I make my small eyes look bigger?
Wednesday, March 7th, 2007
If you have small eyes, cover the eye lid with a neutral colour eg. cream or gold, which has a very slight shimmer as this will reflect the light and add a flattering sparkle. Then, using a small angled brush, apply a darker colour in the socket and follow it round under the eye, blending well - this frames the eyes and makes them look larger.
Don’t apply black eyeliner inside the eyes as this makes them look smaller.
Fill in pale or sparse eyebrows with eyeshadow, this will help to create a more defined frame for your eyes, making them look bigger.
MAC, Rimmel and Bourjois all have a wonderful range of eye colours.

How do I decide what jewellery to wear with different outfits?
Wednesday, March 7th, 2007
The secret of great accessoring is to not over do it. Less is more! Wear more jewellery if your out fit is plain, and less if wearing patterns.
Size is important. Small-framed people should wear jewellery that doesn’t overpower them. Taller, bigger-framed types can wear bigger and bolder styles.
If wearing a bold necklace with a dress or top, don’t team it with a large pair of earrings. Wear one striking piece on its own for maximum impact.
Wear all silver, all gold or gun metal, but don’t mix and match metals. The same applies to pearls and diamonds – keep to one theme.
Accessorise and East have a fantastic range of jewellery.
