Choosing The Right Bra

Friday, March 28th, 2008

Did you see the recent TV show where those braziered crusaders Trinny and Susannah hit the UK high streets to find out if us girls were wearing the right sized bra and to make us more aware of how crucial it is that we do!

It turned out that over 70% of us are in ill-fitting bras. This is bad for our breasts, bad for our confidence, and does nothing to make us feel sexy or alluring. So what can we do about it?The first step is to go and be professionally measured at a good department store. If you don’t fancy that, then have a go at home using this online lingerie sizing guide - simply go grab your tape measure and click here.Secondly, were you aware that there is a right way to put on your bra?Follow these simple steps for the best look and feel:1. Slip on straps2. Fasten back3. Lean forward, pulling straps forward slightly4. Scoop breasts into cups5. The band around your back should rest parallel to your cups What if one is bigger than the other?
This is normal! Simply buy the bra with the cup that fits the larger and tighten the strap on the other side. You can also find some bras that have removable padding, so just remove it on your bigger side!8 out of 10 women wear the wrong cup size, so if your breasts are spilling out, get a larger bra, if it is too roomy, go smaller. This sounds basic but so many of us put up with this when we don’t need to!Experiment!
It is so easy to get stuck in a rut and keep wearing the same style. Try on different styles to find the ones that really suit your assets.Love Thyself! Real women come in all shapes and sizes, work on accepting your breasts. There is nothing more beautiful and attractive than a confident woman who is happy with her shape (despite the ‘perfect’ media images we are constantly bombarded with!)Look and Feel Beautiful A good bra make you feel terrific, your clothes will fit and hang much better on you, so it really is worth investing time and effort in finding the ones that make you look and feel great. You Try a push up bra if you have less on top, or a minimiser bra that pulls it all together if you have bigger boobs. Most importantly, always wear a great sports bra when exercising to keep your breasts in great shape.

Spring Seasonal Styling

Friday, March 28th, 2008

Spring is one of the trickiest times of year for buying new clothes and looking stylish. The shops are full of flimsy chiffon dresses and floral blouses, but the weather’s just too cold to wear them! Read on to find out how to stay one step ahead of the trends without feeling the chill…Firstly, and most importantly, layering is the key to bridging the gap between winter and spring clothes. Long sleeve T-shirts can be layered under any of this season’s pretty dresses and shirts. Try to keep the layering piece tonal and in keeping with the rest of your outfit ie. if you’re wearing black jeans or tights, then the layering top should also be black, but if you’re wearing lighter jeans or tights, then go for a cream or white shade.A great way of keeping chills at bay when you are wearing a dress or skirt is to layer leggings or footless tights underneath. If your legs are slim, go for a lighter colour such as grey or cream which will work tonally with this spring’s soft palette. However, if you’re curvier, then opt for slimming black leggings to create a bold contrast between the lighter colours you’re wearing.
