‘Tis the season Yule look fabulous…

Styling

It’s time to update your party season wear and give it an overhaul.
You can keep hold of your all-time classics but update them to
glam up your look.
Here are a few tips to take you from work to play…

Womenswear

The key to looking effortlessly stylish while going from work to partying is to rework your work clothes to add a touch of evening glamour, eg. wear your jacket over a slinky little dress, and add some strappy shoes, a long drop necklace and a bracelet.

Or hold onto your trousers and team them with a vest top or tunic with a little sparkly bling detail. Or go for the full-on glamour sequin camisole (the high street has a wonderful variety). Again change your work shoes for stappy evening ones and add jewellery.

Menswear

Go from work to cocktails by transforming your work suit into evening wear. Ditch the work shirt and tie, and add a stylish colourful shirt.

Alternatively keep the jacket and add a pair of jeans. Choose a shirt that is the same colour as the jacket, eg. black shirt, black jacket and jeans.

Teens

Wear simple pieces that have a bit of sparkle – there is so much choice in the shops.

Fabulous examples of festive style include sixties-style mini dresses which look great worn with either dark opaque tights or tights the same colour as the dress itself, then add long gold or silver necklaces. Or wear with skinny jeans for an easy, funky look.

Jeans also team up brilliantly with short fitted jackets in any of the gorgeous metallic colours around.

If the idea of glittery dressing seems scary, just add accessories with a little festive cheer, like diamante earrings, rings or bracelets.

However you incorporate the Christmassy feel, remember you must still dress for your body shape and colouring.

Make-up

Refresh your daytime make up for the evening by adding some sparkle and drama. Always use a light touch and remember to choose colours that flatter you.

A step-by-step guide to updating your day make up for the evening:

Foundation – first wipe over your skin with a blotting paper to remove excess oil. Then either lightly apply foundation only where you need it, or just hydrate your skin with a little moisturiser so that it glows.

Always retouch your undereyes concealer to brighten and lift your eyes.

Add a little shimmer to the tops of cheekbones and/or on the browbone .

Intensify your eyeliner. The smoky eye is a sexy evening look – use a pencil or eye shadow and apply a thick line along your lash line and smudge with your finger or a cotton bud.

Add a coat of mascara.

Create drama by using a lipstick shade that is richer than your daytime look and add gloss to catch the light and turn up the tempo.

And finally switch from your daytime scent to a warm, sexy fragrance.

Have fun experimenting with different looks!

Happy Christmas Everyone!
